Telephone talk between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. After mutual warm greetings, the leaders of two countries expressed satisfaction over the advantage of the opportunity to discuss in the personal talk the priority issues of the relations, which are based on the indissoluble bonds of friendship and cultural and spiritual commonality, uniting the peoples of Turkmenistan and Turkey. Taking this opportunity, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan once again warmly congratulated the Turkmen counterpart on the recent 60-year anniversary and wished sound health and success in his noble work for the prosperity of the Motherland and the people. Thanking for the congratulations, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov noted that traditional Turkmen-Turkish cooperation, basing on the unvaried goodwill of the sides, is developing successfully. The President of Turkmenistan and the head of the Republic of Turkey emphasized the interstate dialogue’s strategic, constructive character, clear evidence of which are also regular top-level meetings and contacts. The leaders of two countries exchanged views on prospects for partnership in its key areas. As noted, the existing potential causes the extensibilities of trade-economic cooperation. Underlining the importance of human-cultural component of the Turkmen-Turkish relations, the sides called for the deepening of contacts in this area, as well as in tourism and sport. Noting that at present, Turkmenistan is actively preparing for the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov invited his Turkish counterpart to participate in their solemn inauguration ceremony. Thanking for the invitation, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his confidence in the emphatic success of the forthcoming Asiada-2017, which would facilitate the enhancing Turkmenistan’s prestige in the world arena, particularly as a sporting power. During the telephone talk, the sides also exchanged views on a number of pressing topics of regional and global agenda. It was affirmed Turkmenistan’s and Turkey’s commitment to the consolidation of efforts for the purpose of global peacekeeping, security and prosperity.
