The United Nations General Secretary Antonio Guterres sent the letter to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressing the gratitude for warm welcome and hospitality given during his visit to Ashgabat. “I highly appreciate the efforts of your Government for achievement of our common goals including sustainable development, sustainable transport, fight against the terrorism and activation of regional cooperation, - the message says. I would like to express the gratitude for your support and successful conduct of the High-Level Dialog between the UN and the Central Asia on Implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy in Ashgabat. Ashgabat declaration adopted by its outcomes indicates the consensus of the Central Asian states in consolidation of partnership and coordination with the UN in combat against the terrorism and prevention of violent extremism. I highly appreciate your personal support of the UN Regional Centre of Preventative Diplomacy for the central Asia from its foundation ten years ago. This support indicates the efforts of your side on support of regional cooperation and preventative diplomacy. I was impressed with new building of the UN given by the Government of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat and with its excellent premises for the UN country’s group. I would also like to express special gratitude for equipment and facilities support rendered during my visit.
