At a Cabinet session on the work results for 8 months of 2017, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov demanded to accelerate the implementation rate of fundamental reforms in the country’s agrarian sector. The head of state expressed a number of critical comments to Vice-Premier for the agricultural issues E.Orazgeldiyev on the state of affairs in the country’s agro-industrial complex. The state renders all-round support to agriculture, sufficiently supplying it with mineral fertilizers, irrigation water, modern machinery, seeds and other resources, but the crop yield remains low, the President stated. The head of state gave specific instructions to the industry leadership concerning the formation of market relations in the rural areas, development of the agro-industrial complex on a scientific basis, increasing exports and reducing agricultural imports.
