President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the ceremony on occasion of 10 days countdown until the beginning of Ashgabat 2017 Games. In the morning, the Head of the State arrived in the Olympic village to the Sport hotel where the Chairperson of the Mejlis, members of the Government of the country, leaders of military and law enforcement agencies, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, wide sports community, mass media and numerous guests have gathered. Television spacebridge that connected the Olympic village with Galkynysh deposit where the Torch of the Games to be lit up took place at the place. In his speech, the Head of the State highlighted the significance of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat. Seven years ago, Turkmenistan has won the right to hold the sport event of such scale - V Asian Games. Every month and year of this period were marked with the events indicating growing sport authority of our independent state, the President has said. The start to unprecedented horse ride was given when 500 days were left until the beginning of V Asian Games from the walls of Ancient Nissa. Our equestrians rode across all velayats of our Motherland. Today, the riders – members of the equestrian marathon, will head for Ashgabat after taking the touch of V Asian Games. The Head of the State blessed the lighting up of the Torch of V Asian Games at one of the largest natural gas deposits in Mary velayat, Galkynysh field.
