President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received President of the Asian Olympic Council (AOC) Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah who arrived in Ashgabat for participation in the opening ceremony of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. Having congratulated the Head of the State on coming start of 2017 Asian Games, the guest confirmed the interest of the AOC in expansion of cooperation with Turkmenistan. Having stated successful character of cooperation with the Asian Olympic Council, the Head of the State highlighted the adherence of the country to ideals of the Olympic movement and to the course for consolidation of regional and international partnership. The President of Turkmenistan and Head of the Asian Olympic Council shared the opinion on cooperation. V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which competitions are to be held in facilities of the Olympic village in Turkmen capital, were the main subject of the conversation. By the guest’s opinion, the forethought of the largest in the region complex, provision of the facilities will positively affect the achievements of success by the sportsmen. The Head of the AOC expressed sincere gratitude to the Head of the State for active support of organization of the competitions and highly appraised performed work. The guest expressed the confidence that 2017 Asian Games would be bright and memorable event in the world sport life and make real contribution to popularization of sports in regional and international scale. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his guest expressed the confidence in activation of efficient cooperation between Turkmenistan and the AOC.
