President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minikhanov who arrived in Turkmen capital for participation in the opening ceremony of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. Warmly greeting each other, the Leader of Turkmenistan and the Head of the largest Russian region had joint photo on the background of State Flags. Congratulating President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the beginning of Ashgabat 2017 Games, the Head of Tatarstan expressed the confidence that this event would promote further growth of the interest to our country and improvement of its international authority. Rustam Minnikhanov noted that policy in sport sphere initiated by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov brings actual results – Turkmen sports enters quality new levels and the country becomes the place of prestigious international competitions. All of these give confidence that v Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat will be held on the highest level. Having expressed the gratitude for warm words, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted fruitful character of bilateral cooperation, which is based on old relations, cultural and spiritual similarity of two nations and is being successfully developed under intergovernmental constructive dialog with the Russian Federation. During the meeting, the sides exchanged the visions on new opening opportunities of diversification of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation and noted the presence of considerable potential for beneficial consolidation of efforts in different directions. There are fuel and energy complex, trade and economic sphere, agriculture, tourism and sports among priority vectors. Special attention was paid to cooperation in cultural and humanitarian spheres, matters of expansion of the partnership between scientific and educational centres. Rustam Minnikahnov highlighted that established productive cooperation with our country is very important for Tatarstan where peace loving policy led by Turkmen leader and aimed at universal progress, peace and economic prosperity is highly appreciated and supported.
