The award ceremony of valuable gifts to the members of refugee team with participation of the leaders of the Executive Committee of V Asian Games, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the State Committee for Sports and Tourism, coaches and members of Turkmenistan and foreign countries’ teams, representatives of domestic and foreign mass media has taken place in the Olympic village. The action was held at the square of the Olympic village under music and songs, participation of hundreds of guests and the participants of Ashgabat 2017 Games among them. The event was a bright show where representatives of different cultures united for achievement of noble purpose – the promotion of humanity ideas to the mass. It was mentioned in the speech of the representative of Turkmen side that cooperation with international organizations where interrelations with international humanitarian structures is on special place, is the main direction of the foreign policy of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. It was highlighted that Turkmenistan, while being the member of the Executive Committee of the UN High Commissioner Programme on Refugees, successfully cooperated for many years with this organization. The fact that it was Turkmenistan that was the initiator of the adoption of this significant Declaration on the UN level demonstrates again growing role of our country in solution of global humanitarian issues of the time to the world community. The presents that awarded today are our gratitude for priceless contribution of the Olympic refugee teams to consolidation of peace and human rights. In the return speech, the head of refuge team Tegla Lorupe expressed the gratitude from the bottom of he heart to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the opportunity to participate in V Asian Games and for the Declaration on Encouragement of Valuable Contribution of the Olympic Refugee Teams to the Consolidation of Peace and Human Rights initiated by Turkmen leader. According to the legendary marathon racer, the initiative of Turkmen leader will give new impulse to solution of refugees’ and stateless persons problems as the sports, which is based on respect and high principles of humanity, supports consolidation of peace and understanding.
