After the opening ceremony of the building «Nowruz ýaýlasynyň ak öýi» the head of state gave a start for the autumn afforestation campaign having planted the first tree. He is followed by all participants of the ecological action. The present mass action held on the threshold of important political event - the next session of the council of elders - became one more vivid example of that large scale and consecutive work that is developed in our country as the real contribution to the common noble deed for the sake of nature and sustainable development preservation on the planet. The new stage in realisation of the National afforestation program was marked by the resolution of the head of the state, according to which ministries, departments, khyakimliks are assigned to ensure planting of three millions of saplings of deciduous, coniferous and fruit trees, and also grapes in the capital, its vicinities and velayats in 2017. In the spring of the current year about 416 thousand saplings were planted in the country. It is necessary to notice that the beginning of the present autumn tree planting campaign was preceded by a large sale preparatory work. For its successful realisation it was important to provide all necessary measures at planting of saplings – agro-technical requirements and standards developed on the basis of scientific researches. It includes a timely clearing and levelling of the areas planned under woods, competent distribution of numbers for various kinds of trees and exact calculation of quantity of saplings, preparation of holes, maintenance of sufficient volume of water and the soil fertilised by organic substances. In the given aspect the choice of saplings adapted to features of soil-environmental conditions of various regions of our country is not less important as well. According to recommendations of scientists and experts, coniferous species planted along motorways and in nearby settlements areas, and especially in resort places, are remarkable that they in 6-7 times more and faster clear environment of harmful gases and dust impurity, well influencing the health of people. In the conditions of desert such saplings reliably protect settlements from hot and dusty winds, earth flows, creating a favourable microclimate and changing natural landscapes. The grandiose action passed today all over the country. In total in the action 364 thousand 700 people took part, 417 thousand 715 trees were planted. Across Ashgabat the quantity of participants of the action made up 34 thousand 28 people, 158 thousand 765 saplings were planted and works on care of earlier planted 595 thousand of 435 trees were carried out. On completion of community work day President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited all participants of the action to the generous dastarkhan. Here it was possible not only to taste dishes of national Turkmen cuisine, but also to familiarise with secrets of their preparation.
