In his speech at the Council of Elders, the President of Turkmenistan noted the high level of the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games held in Ashgabat, which became an important event of international significance this year. Our country has prepared itself in the most responsible manner for the Asian Games. In 2010, the foundation of the Olympic town was laid in Ashgabat, for the construction of which huge investments were sent. The facilities erected here are equipped in accordance with the requirements of the International Olympic Committee. The artistic image of the Akhal-Teke horse, decorating the rostrum of the Olympic stadium, as well as the Water Sports Center, built of environmentally friendly materials meeting the high international requirements, is included in the Guinness Book of Records, which indicates the most serious and responsible approach to the construction of sports facilities in our country. At the sports venues of the Olympic town international competitions in 21 kinds of sports were held at a high level, with participation of athletes from 65 countries of the planet. The Turkmen leader stressed that our athletes took the first place in these Games, having won the most medals in the general classification. These sports victories have multiplied patriotism and pride of the people for our Motherland. The holding of the Ashgabat Games 2017 at the highest level has strengthened the prestige of the country in the world Olympic movement, facilitated the recognition of an independent neutral Turkmenistan as a world sports center.
