During the Elder’s Council meeting, the Chairperson of Mejlis informed that the Parliament of Turkmenistan had taken the decision to confer the highest state award – Hero of Turkmenistan to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan S. Toylyyev requested the President of Turkmenistan to present the award to him on behalf of the athletes of Turkmenistan. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed the cordial gratitude for the great honour and wished strong health and success, happiness and prosperity to the honorary elders, youth, who are to build the happy future, as well as the cabinet ministers, the members of the State Security Council, deputies of the National Parliament, the representatives of mass media, public organisations and the diplomatic corps. The Turkmen leader was conferred with this award for his contribution to the improvement of democratic and legal foundations of the government, the consolidation of sovereignty, the constitutional form of the government, independence and permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, the maintenance of civil consent and national unity. The President of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to the athletes for the award.
