A National Industrial Exhibition of the Republic of Uzbekistan has opened in the Expo Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. Held in the Turkmen capital for the first time ever and initiated by the two neighboring states’ leaders, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the specialized economic exposition aims to deepen and expand areas of trade-economic cooperation, and build closer partner relations between the friendly countries.

During the session of the Government, Vice-premier K. Durdymyradov who supervises the industrial sector reported on the measures for the development of fish farming in the country. The companies of the State Fishery Committee caught 555 tons of fish from the beginning of the year, which exceeds the index of the same period of the last year.

As it was informed by Vice-premier K. Durdymyradov, it is planned to start issuing specialized magazine “Turkmenistan Industry” for the popularization of the achievements of the country in industrial spheres, textile and carpet items, construction materials and chemical products as well as success in fishery. Quarterly publication of the magazine in Turkmen, English and Russian languages is planned to be published from July of this year.

During the session of the Government of March 29, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the improvement of the mechanisms and forms of international cooperation in the promotion of national production in foreign markets, creation of the conditions for the activation of business and encouragement of private initiative for the improvement of the competitiveness of the industrial complex of the country and introduction of advanced practice and innovative technologies in this sphere.

The farmers of the Dashoguz velayat started cotton sowing campaign, where the sowing season starts somewhat later than in other regions of the country.

Ashgabat hosted a Turkmen-Iranian business forum, timed to coincide with the official visit by President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani to Turkmenistan. Attended by representatives of the two countries’ business circles, the forum focused on identifying prospective areas of trade-economic cooperation given the national development programs and priorities of regional cooperation.

The meeting to take place in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be aimed at intensifying the partnership between business circles of the two countries. The leaders of key structures of the Iranian economy, representatives of companies working in such spheres as construction and energy; mining business; textile and medical industry; agriculture; trade; transport and logistics; engineering and insurance are expected to participate in the meeting.

On 29-31 March the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan will host the exhibition of national industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The exposition will feature companies working in such spheres as tourism; mechanical engineering; energy; oil and gas; textile, typographical, chemical and mining industries; trade; transport and logistics; as well as producers of construction materials and equipment, leather goods, medical supplies and food.

On 31 March Ashgabat will host the International Scientific Conference “Turkmenistan’s Chemical Industry on the Path of Progress”. The Forum will be held in conjunction with the Day of Chemical Industry Workers. Issues that will dominate the agenda of the upcoming meeting include achievements in Turkmenistan’s chemical industry, its prospects, strengthening and widening partnerships with all interested countries, and exchange of experience. Representatives of major foreign companies are expected to participate in the conference.

The President of Turkmenistan signed a Resolution “On Rice Production in Turkmenistan in 2018”. According to the document, a total area of 18 thousand 300 hectares is planned to be sown this year to produce 82 thousand 400 tons of rice in Dashoguz and Lebap provinces.
