Ashgabat’s Mizan Business Center has hosted a Turkmen-Belarusian business forum, co-organized by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and Belarus.

Next week in Ashgabat, the Energy Charter Forum will discuss in detail the improvement of mechanisms for international cooperation in the energy sector and development of a multilateral framework agreement on transit of energy resources. This was stated in the speech of the Chief Adviser of the Energy Charter Secretariat, Dr. Jose Alejandro Carballo Leyda at the VIII International Gas Congress in Avaza.

One of the key themes of the VIII International Gas Congress held in Avaza was the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline. It was noted that the laying of the 214-kilometer Turkmen section of the gas transportation line is being carried out according to the schedule, and it is planned to fully complete all works at the end of 2018.

In order to further strengthen the country’s economic potential, and the planned expansion of wheat production, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree, having ordered to establish a state Commission for Organized Conducting a Grains Harvesting Campaign in 2017, and having approved its composition to ensure the high-level organization of a prompt and loss-free harvesting of a grown crop, its uninterrupted transportation to warehouses and elevators, and timely settlement of accounts with grain producers.

Speaking at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov placed special emphasis on the progress of reforms in the economic sphere. As mentioned, construction of 1900 major facilities worth 45 billion USD is underway in the country. About 1800 of those are being built by the local construction enterprises.
