The capital hosted the talks between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, who arrived in our country on the state visit.

1. By the invitation of His Excellency President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, His Majesty, the King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa has made the state visit to Turkmenistan on May 17 – 19, 2019. High-level delegation including the ministers, high-rank officials and representatives of business circles has come together with His Majesty, the King. Reception ceremony of high ranking guest has been organized in honour of His Majesty in the Presidential Palace on March 18. His Excellency President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has held meeting with His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Decree, which resolved to award the King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Isa Ak Khalifa with the Bitaraplyk Order for special merits in assertion of the status of permanent neutrality on independent Turkmenistan, consolidation of friendship, development of old economic, scientific, educational, cultural and international cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as for personnel input to the consolidation of unity and solidarity of two countries.

By the request of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Speaker of the Mejlis G. Mammedova received the credentials of Issiradjou Ibrahim Gomina, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Benin to Turkmenistan.

One of the highest state awards of Turkmenistan - Bitaraplyk (Neutrality) Order was awarded to King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa upon the completion of the top-level talks between Turkmenistan and Bahrain as well as the ceremony of signing the bilateral documents.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa paid particular attention to the cultural and humanitarian relations.

During the talks between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa with the participation of the official delegations of the two countries it was underlined that Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Bahrain are the dynamically developing states with huge reserves of natural resources and favourable geographic location that opens up wide opportunities for full-scale and mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade and economic sphere.

The top-level talks between Turkmenistan and Bahrain take place in Ashgabat. Upon completion of the one-on-one talks, the negotiations continue in the extended format with the participation of the members of the official delegations of the two countries.
