President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Igor Makarov, the Head of ARETI International Group of Companies. Having expressed sincere gratitude for spared time and opportunity to discuss topical subject of bilateral cooperation, the guest took the opportunity and cordially congratulated the Head of the State on the World Bicycle Day on June 3 declared by the United Nations General Assembly by the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan. This decision was enthusiastically accepted by the sport community, - Igor Makarov has said. – As a member of Management Committee of International Bicycle Union and as a person born in Ashgabat who dedicated all his life to the cycling, I am glad to be here on this remarkable day. Having mentioned that he always comes with great inspiration to Turkmen capital, which is rapidly changing its appearance turning into of the most beautiful cities of the world, the Head of ARETI confirmed the interest of his Holding in intensification of beneficial contacts with Turkmenistan, which demonstrate rapid rates of economic growth. Welcoming the guest, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that our country is always open for constructive cooperation with leading representatives of the world business including from Russia. In this regard, productive character of business relations with ARETI, which has successful experience of joint work with Turkmenistan in oil, gas and other spheres, was highlighted. During the meeting, the sides exchanged the opinions on the perspectives of beneficial partnership taking into account the priorities of the state development of Turkmenistan and opportunities of realization of new projects in different spheres. Cooperation in sports, especially in cycling, which acquire more popularity every day in our country, was the subject of interested discussion. Large-scale sport action – mass cycling raid, which will be organized in Ashgabat on occasion of the first World Bicycle Day, is bright example if such popularity. In this context, special attention was paid to the opportunity to arrange training camps for Russian sportsmen in Turkmenistan, master classes of Russian racers and coaches for Turkmen athletes as well as to organize international cycling competitions in cycling track of the Ashgabat Olympic village starting from 2019. It was mentioned that relative agreements were reached during the talks between Russian Cycling Federation and Turkmenistan National Olympic Committee on the day before. In the end of the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Head of ARETI International Group of Companies Igor Makarov expressed the confidence in successful continuation of traditional cooperation built with the account of mutual interests and aimed at certain results.
