Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has taken part in the flower-laying ceremony at the Independence Monument of Turkmenistan on the occasion of the 31^st anniversary of independence of the fatherland in the year “The epoch of people with Arkadag”. This holiday adds the feeling of pride for the glorious past of the fatherland, the present happy epoch and confidence in its bright future in each of us.

…by tradition in the early morning festive events started in the national park of independence. It is here that Ashgabat residents and foreign guests come to the grandiose monument, a symbol illustrating the unshakable commitment of our fatherland and Turkmen people to ideals of peace, creation and good.

The President of Turkmenistan passes through the alley along which at the eternal guard moulded images of Turkmen soldiers and historical personalities stood frozen underlining a great meaning of this grandiose monument called to immortalize the great date of obtaining of independence by our country in the memories of the present and upcoming generations.

The national hymns of Turkmenistan sounds. The President of the country lays a wreath at the memorial slab, established in front of the entrance to the memorial complex.

After the head of the state, members of the Government, heads and representatives of the Khalk Maslakhaty and Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh, military and law enforcement bodies, khyakims of regions and Ashgabat city, representatives of public organizations, ministries and departments, diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to our country, honoured elders, student youth and numerous residents of the capital also laid wreaths and bouquets at the monument.

Foreign guests, who arrived in Ashgabat to the festive events on the occasion of the 31^st anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan, also expressed their deep respect and tribute to national sacred places of Turkmen people.
