President Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited the Main Mosque of Astana. This new spiritual temple was opened in August this year.

Here, at the main entrance, the President of Turkmenistan was warmly welcomed by the chief imam of the mosque, who invited the distinguished guest to get acquainted with the new spiritual complex, its facilities, features of architecture and design.

The mosque, which is the largest in Kazakhstan, was built on a land plot of 10 hectares. Its total capacity is 235 thousand people, of which 35 thousand believers can simultaneously pray in the halls, and 200 thousand people in the open air. The new cathedral mosque has four minarets 130 meters high each. One of the minarets in the left wing is open to visitors and tourists who can take the elevator to its observation deck. The height of the large dome of the mosque is 83.2 meters, the diameter is 62 meters. In the design of the spiritual temple, elements of the national Kazakh ornament and traditional Islamic decor, colored mosaics, and carpets were used.
