Today, the capital hosted the 11th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Austrian Commission, which was attended by heads and representatives of a number of government agencies, as well as business communities of the two countries.

The agenda of the next meeting included issues of practical implementation of previously reached agreements and, in particular, the recommendations of the previous meeting, as well as the identification of new upcoming trends of fruitful partnership.

Opening the meeting, the co-chairs of the commissions noted with satisfaction the high level of Turkmen-Austrian relations based on the principles of mutual trust and benefit. As it was noted, both countries demonstrate the desire to maximize the use of the existing solid potential for the implementation of joint projects.

The meeting participants, expressing gratitude to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for his attention to the development of bilateral dialogue, noted with satisfaction that the Turkmen-Austrian interstate relations are characterized by increasing dynamics, especially in trade, economic and humanitarian ties.

Special attention was paid to the mechanical engineering, as well as environmental and information technologies.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the implementation of joint projects in various areas will be of practical importance for both sides.

In particular, the possibilities of the representation of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, which opened in June, 2017 in Vienna, which became a link between the business circles of our country and Europe, promoting an increase in export-import operations and the volume of mutually supplied goods and services, as well as the establishment of relations between economic entities of the two states, were noted.

In this context, it was about attracting the experience and technologies of Austrian companies to create industrial and service enterprises in our country, as well as promoting Turkmen products to the markets of Austria and other countries of the European Union.

A significant role in the development of fruitful relations is played by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, the Federal Economic Chamber of the Republic of Austria, the Trade Representation of the Austrian Embassy in Ashgabat, which directly assist representatives of the business circles of the two states.

This is confirmed by the signing of agreements of intent between the Balam confectionery enterprise and Akras Flavours GmbH company, as well as between the Halk market supermarket chain of Turkmenistan and the Austrian-Turkmen Society at the Turkmen-Austrian Business Forum, held on November 29.

The meeting participants expressed confidence that the new agreements reached during the current meeting, as well as the bilateral business forum held on the eve, will facilitate the further development of mutually beneficial partnership.

Following the meeting, it was signed a corresponding protocol.
