Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed the state and future of interstate cooperation meeting key interests of Turkmen and Uzbek people during the telephone conversation today.

As Hero Arkadag underlined, Turkmenistan attaches great attention to the development and strengthening of bilateral relations with Uzbekistan, which based upon mutual good will, assume more and more deep significance with every passing day.

– A high level of mutual trust and openness adherent to the interstate dialogue acts as a significant factor in development of mutually beneficial partnership, which enables to hold an efficient and successive dialogue on a wide range of areas, Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said noting that his remembers with special warmth his recent visit to Uzbekistan for participation in the meeting of the Council of the state members of the Organization of Turkic states, during which profound talks were held in the atmosphere of openness and trust.

It was pointed out that at the current stage bilateral cooperation is built upon centuries-old principles of friendship and good neighborhood taking into account realities of modernity and situation in the region and world. The efficiency of Turkmen-Uzbek interaction stipulated with commonness of interests and presence of firm political will deepen cooperation in all areas.

Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan distinguish closeness or coincidence of approaches on actual international and regional issues and it serves an important precondition for joining efforts to ensure sustainable development and stability in the region.

Interlocutors with satisfaction stated that both countries pursue peace-loving foreign policy and play a special role in maintenance of peace and consensus in Central Asia that has a great significance in the light of rapidly changing situation in the region and beyond its limits.

In the course of the conversation, a special emphasis was made on importance of further intensification of trade and economic relations that act as one of the priority areas of Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation.

– At present, our mutual trade turnover has a rising dynamics, which we have remarkably raised in recent year and of course, we do not intend to stop at what we have achieved, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan underlined.

In this connection, an enormous potential for further joint realization of large-scale projects in fuel and energy, chemical, agricultural sectors as well as in transport and logistics spheres was marked.

In addition to it, Hero Arkadag noted with special satisfaction that inter-parliamentary relations that supplement links between two neighboring countries would assume further development.

Having pointed out all and every possible readiness of the sides for expansion of traditional contacts in all spheres, interlocutors expressed firm confidence that cooperation based on age-old links of friendship and good neighborhood, will be further developed and strengthened by joint efforts for the benefit of peoples of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Having bid farewell to each other, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev exchanged congratulations with the upcoming New Year, wishing that the year 2023 would be successful and happy for two countries and their brotherly peoples.
