President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent sincere congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the people and government of Turkmenistan as well as on his own behalf to President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Li Zhanshu, Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang and all friendly people of the People’s Republic of China on the occasion of the Chinese New Year –Spring Festival.

“As New Year festival by lunar calendar, it symbolizes the awakening of nature, a new start and opportunities. This festival, which has deep historical roots, embodies eternal humane values and facilitates unity of families, peaceful coexistence and harmony.

In Turkmenistan, we highly appreciate relations with the People’s Republic of China, at the basis of which principles of mutual respect and trust, equality and mutual benefit lie. At present, the interstate Turkmen-Chinese dialogue bears a strategic and long-term character. We are committed to the course of further expansion of relations with the People’s Republic of China through implementation of an existing great potential for the benefit of peoples of the two countries.

With warmth, I remember my recent first state visit to your great country. During the meetings held there, we had rather open and good faith talks and exchanged views on the present state of bilateral cooperation and outlined goals for its further development.

At the meeting held at high level on January 6, the day of establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and PRC was marked with the signing of a package of new interstate agreements aimed at intensification of partnership in political, trade and economic and humanitarian spheres.

It marked another important step on the path of further intensification of the traditionally friendly dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries”, – President Serdar Berdimuhamedov underlined, noting especially a firm adherence of Turkmenistan to the all-round strengthening and development of Turkmen-Chinese strategic partnership meeting interest of common wellbeing.

Availing of the kind opportunity, the President of Turkmenistan expressed his wishes of sound health, happiness and successes to President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Li Zhanshu, Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang and peace, prosperity and progress to the friendly people of China.
