Today, on the instruction of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairperson of the Mejlis G. Mammedova has received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Turkmenistan Vaclav Yilek.
On behalf of the head of state, the speaker of the National Parliament congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to the responsible diplomatic post, wishing him success in further strengthening the traditional ties of friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Czech Republic.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome in the Turkmen land, Vaclav Yilek conveyed to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov the best wishes from the leadership of the Czech Republic.
Noting that it is a great honor for him to represent his country in Turkmenistan, a state that has gained high international prestige due to its peaceful policy and progressive initiatives, the diplomat assured that he would apply his experience and knowledge to develop Turkmen-Czech cooperation for the benefit of both countries and their friendly peoples.
During the conversation, the ambassador was informed on the priorities of the domestic and foreign policy being pursued by the head of Turkmen state, the most important objective of which is the establishment of broad international cooperation for global peace and sustainable development, and briefed on the structure and legislative activities of the Mejlis.
The importance of expanding inter-parliamentary relations in order to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, including within reputable international organizations and agencies, was highlighted.
While exchanging views on the prospects for further expanding bilateral relations, a great potential was pointed out for promoting trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian contacts, in particular, joint activities in the fields of science, education, culture, sports and tourism.
