On March 7, 2023, the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan G. Mammedova received credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Chile to Turkmenistan Rodrigo Enrique Arcos Castro.

The head of parliament congratulated the Ambassador of Chile on his appointment to a high diplomatic post and wished him success in strengthening the ties of friendship and intensifying bilateral cooperation.

The diplomat, in turn, conveyed greetings and best wishes from the leadership of his country to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. As the Ambassador emphasized, it is a great honor for him to represent the Republic of Chile in a state that has gained high international prestige thanks to the peaceful foreign policy and positive initiatives.

During the conversation, the Ambassador was informed about the main directions of the domestic and foreign policy of independent neutral Turkmenistan, large-scale reforms initiated by the head of state, as well as major international projects.

Particular emphasis was placed on socio-economic programs aimed at building the potential and diversifying the national economy on an innovative basis, creating a modern infrastructure, improving welfare and steadily increasing the living standards of the population.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Chile got acquainted with the structure and multilateral activities of the Turkmen Parliament in the context of ongoing large-scale reforms.
