The prospects for expanding long-term fruitful cooperation became the main topic of discussion at the meeting of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on April 5, 2023 with Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit.

During the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Rustam Minnikhanov noted the high level of established bilateral relations in various fields of mutual interest. At present, the interstate dialogue is filled with new content, covering new areas. In this context, a special role is given to the interaction of Turkmenistan with the regions and subjects of the Russian Federation, which is designed to complement the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

Regular personal meetings and negotiations between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan largely contribute to the strengthening of the traditional partnership. Such an active dialogue creates favorable conditions for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in many areas.

The Joint Turkmen-Tatarstan working group on trade-economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation is successfully carrying out its activities, the tasks of which are to analyze the entire spectrum of bilateral partnership and develop appropriate measures to intensify it.

A significant aspect of the Turkmen-Tatarstan relations, according to mutual opinion, is also interaction in the humanitarian sphere, including in the field of science and education, training of highly qualified professional personnel.

It was noted that currently over 6,000 Turkmen students are studying in the leading universities of Tatarstan, who in the future will help strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between the Turkmen and Tatar peoples, who have been linked from time immemorial by a common language, traditions, religion and spiritual and moral values.

In this regard, taking the opportunity, the Hero-Arkadag asked Rustam Minnikhanov to convey to the aksakals of Tatarstan a low bow and congratulations on the approaching bright Muslim holiday of Oraza.
