Turkmen martial arts professionals continue to please their fans with victories in the international competitions. This time, Turkmen professionals have achieved successes in the Chinese Wushu Open Championship of Latvia and the Thai Boxing competitions for the World Cup between students.

A series of successful performances of Turkmen sportsmen in the international sport arena was carried on by masters of alysh belt wrestling and taekwondo (WTF). The two competitions replenished our country’s “medal box” with 15 medals – 2 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze medals, which our sportsmen dedicated to spring Novruz Holiday.

Turkmen chess players won medals of all types: gold and bronze – in the International Master Group, and silver – in the International Grandmaster Group at the traditional “First Saturday” Chess Tournament, which ended in the capital of Hungary.

Turkmen sportsmen have achieved another success at the large international chess tournament. In the “Khazar Cup” Tournament, held in the city of Rasht (Islamic Republic of Iran), our countrymen won two medals – gold and bronze.

Turkmen sportsmen have achieved remarkable success at the two large international tournaments - at the Sambo World Cup series in Minsk, the capital of the Republic of Belarus and at the International Athletics Tournament in Tehran (Iran). In total, ten medals (3 – gold, 3 – silver and 4 – bronze) replenished the “medal box” of Turkmen sportsmen.

Turkmen sportsmen have achieved notable success at the West Asia Wu-shu Championship held in the city of Zahedan (Islamic Republic of Iran). In the “sanda” discipline (combats) our Wu-shu fighters won two silver and four bronze medals.

Last week, the first meeting of the OCA Coordination Committee was held in the Turkmen capital to discuss regular stages of preparations for the upcoming V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games to be held in Ashgabat in 2017.
