Farmers in Turkmenistan will begin planting winter wheat on 23 August of the current year. The relevant instruction was given by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the Government session.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the heads of the agricultural sector to speed up the development of the Land Cadastre, a systematized set of information on the natural, economic and legal status of lands in the country.

Past week at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan 25 transactions were registered.

The President of Turkmenistan, who arrived in Baku on an official visit, suggested to intensify the partnership between the business structures of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.

Within the framework of the top-level talks with the President of Azerbajan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that in January – June, 2017, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan had increased up to 40 percent as compare to the same period of 2016.

Past week 42 transactions were registered at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.

During the government session the Vice Premier in charge of fuel and energy complex, M.Babayev, has presented his report on the progress in the implementation of the project to construct the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) pipeline.

The oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan completed seven months of 2017, having exceeded the target figures. As the vice premier for fuel and energy sector M. Babayev said at the meeting of the government, for the reporting period the plan for oil and gas condensate production was fulfilled by 102.5 percent, processing of hydrocarbon raw materials by 101.5 percent, gasoline production by 105.3 percent, diesel fuel by 104.2 percent, polypropylene by 105.4 percent, lubricating oils by 111.4 percent and liquefied gas by 118.5 percent.

Growth of Turkmenistan's gross domestic product for 7 months of 2017 was 6.4 percent. Deputy Prime Minister for Economy and Finance B.Hojamammedov informed about it at the meeting of the country's government.

Turkmenistan has increased electricity exports by 2.8 percent for 7 months of 2017. Deputy Prime Minister D. Amangeldiev, who coordinates the energy complex, the construction industry and the municipal economy, informed about it the government at the meeting.
