President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan to develop the new state programme “Digital Turkmenistan” aimed at promoting the development of the information and communication technology and increasing the contribution of this sector into the GDP of the country, as well as reducing the ‘digital difference’ in the people’s everyday life in the regions, cities and villages.

At the February 9 meeting of the government, Vice-premier B. Abdyeva, who oversees the sphere of culture, reported on new finds, discovered in Dandanakan fortress in Mary velayat. Archaeological research on this medieval monument, located 30 kilometers west of Mary city is conducted in the framework of work on studying the historical and cultural heritage of the Great Silk Road.

Reporting during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers D. Amangeldiev noted that in order to ensure the uninterrupted power supply to consumers, it is planned to build up a ring energy system.

The President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution, approving the quotas for admission to postgraduate and doctoral studies in science, as well as the registration of applicants for a degree and the admission to clinical residency in 2018.

In accordance with the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan, Ashirov Batyr Yazmyradovich is released from the position as the Deputy Minister of Energy of Turkmenistan for the serious shortcomings in his work.

To ensure the further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Belarus, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution, approving the membership of the Intergovernmental Commission on the scientific and technological cooperation in Turkmenistan.

The President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution, instructing the Ministry of Textile Industry and khyakimliks of the velayats to ensure the fulfillment in 2018 of the order for the production of 2030 tons of silkworm cocoons in the Akhal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats.

With the aim of further expansion the cooperation with the UN structure - the Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO), the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution approving the composition of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO.

Turkmenistan, paying great attention to strategic partnership with the UN and its specialized agencies, actively develops cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
