President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed his greetings to the participants of I Turkmen – Chinese scientific and innovative forum that has opened in Turkmen capital.

Having congratulated President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov on the success of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani expressed his sincere gratitude for the excellent organization of the Asian Games, fine conditions created for, inter alia, the Afghan athletes, and the shown hospitality.

President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov signed a number of Decrees on the representation of Turkmenistan in international organizations.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that modern Turkmenistan is one of a number of indicators in a number of developed countries, summing up the results of the past meeting of the Council of Elders.

The participants of the Council of Elders of Turkmenistan accepted an Appeal to the people of the country following the results of the October 9-10 meeting.

During the Elders’ Council, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Law on introduction of amendments and additions to the Land Code, which was adopted by the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.

It has become a good tradition in Turkmenistan to give a name to each year. Following this tradition, as well as given numerous requests and wishes of the citizens, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution, according to which the year of 2018 will be held in the country under the motto: “Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road”.

President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution of Convocation of the first session of the National Council of Turkmenistan (Halk Maslahaty) in 2018.

Award ceremony and conferment of the titles to the citizens of our country who were highly appreciated for honest and exemplary work as well as on occasion of the 26th anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan took place at the session of the Council of the Elders.

During the Elder’s Council meeting, the Chairperson of Mejlis informed that the Parliament of Turkmenistan had taken the decision to confer the highest state award – Hero of Turkmenistan to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
