Last week, a regular (the 17th in succession) Mejlis session of Turkmenistan of the fifth convocation was held to adopt a number of new laws and regulatory legal acts developed in accordance with the priorities of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov’s policy and approve the comprehensive program on modernizing the country’s legislative-legal base.

On November 21, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov held a regular working session with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan in charge of the agricultural complex, the khyakims of the regions and Ashgabat city. The governor of Akhal velayat, E.Orazgeldiyev, was the first the head of state invited for video-reporting. The khyakim’s report was focused on the state of affairs in the region and on the readiness measures progress for the countrywide celebrated significant dates.

On November 18, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. Having announced the meeting agenda, the head of state gave the floor to Cabinet Deputy Chairman B.Hojamammedov, who reported on the progress of readiness measures for an ordinary meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Latvian Commission for Economic, Industrial and Scientific-Technical Cooperation to be held in Riga on November 21-22.

On November 16, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the 47th session of the authorized representatives of the Caspian states continued its work. The forum is attended by the heads and leading specialists of ministries and departments of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan.

On November 16, the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov conducted an out-of-office meeting of the State Security Council and attended an official opening ceremony of the facilities of the Interior Ministry’s Management Department.

On November 15, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received the heads of foreign companies – the Board of Directors Chairman of the Russian company “BTK Holding” Taimuraz Bolloev and the Governing Board Chairman of Turkish company “Rönеsans Holding” Erman Ilicak.

On November 15, the capital hosted an official opening of the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Turkmenistan. The ceremony was attended by the Foreign Ministers of the two countries.

On November, the Turkmen capital hosted the talks between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov and President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas, who the night before arrived in Turkmenistan on his first official visit.
