A delegation is sent to the Islamic Republic of Iran comprising representatives of public organizations, creative intelligentsia, scientists, educators, media members and honorary elders. On May 12, the participants in the pilgrimage plan to visit the museum of Magtymguly Fragi in the etrap of Magtymguly in Balkan velayat. On May 13, according to the national customs and traditions, appropriate rites will be performed in Iran at the burial sites of the great poets-thinkers.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov gave the relevant instructions at a Government meeting, held on May 5, stressing that healthcare development is one of the priorities of the state policy.

On May 16 it is planned to hold the International Scientific and Practical Conference ""The Constitution is the legal basis for progress"". This was reported at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on May 5. In Turkmenistan the preparation for the forthcoming elections on May 21 is continuing due to changes in the administrative and territorial structure of velayats.

President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov signed the relevant Ukaz. As the text of the document says, in order to create favorable conditions for the celebration of the Victory Day and the population rest, a day off from Sunday - May 7 is moved to Monday - May 8, 2017. All institutions, enterprises and organizations, regardless of the form of ownership, are required to ensure the fulfillment of the Ukaz.

The 21st International Specialized Exhibition ""Mass Media in Belarus"", which brought together representatives of almost 400 news agencies, editorial offices of printed publications, publishing houses, TV channels and radio stations, continues its work. At the 51st International Mendeleev Olympiad in Chemistry, held on April 23-30 in the Kazakh capital, Turkmen schoolchildren won silver and bronze medals.

Opening ceremony of new modern facility of equestrian sphere – International Quarantine Centre in Ak Bugday etrap, Ahal Velayat, is timed to the Turkmen Horse Day.

Akhal-Teke Horse Complex hosted an exhibition of the best Akhal-Teke horses. One by one, 10 recognized best Akhal-Teke hourses from Ashkhabad, Akhal, Balkan, Lebap, Dashoguz and Mary velayats came to the observation deck.
