On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, Mejlis Chairperson A.Nurberdyeva received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Mali to Turkmenistan, Mr. Tiefing Konate. On behalf of the head of state, the leader of national parliament congratulated the guest on his appointment to the responsible diplomatic post, wishing him success in strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Having highly appreciated the grandiose transformations ongoing in Turkmenistan presently, the plenipotentiary representative of Mali conveyed the best wishes from the Government of his country to the Turkmen people and President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov. During the conversation, the ambassador was briefed on key areas of the state policy, one of the fundamental principles of which is the establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation with the interested countries across the world, as well as on the large-scale reforms and programs being implemented in the country. A separate topic of the conversation was the legislative activity of the Mejlis, its role and position in a context of democratic reforms in Turkmenistan. At the same time, a proposal was made to establish direct inter-parliamentary collaboration as an important factor in strengthening bilateral relations. Expressing his country’s high interest in intensifying trade, economic and cultural cooperation with Turkmenistan, Mr. Tiefing Konate stressed that he will do his best to successfully promote the Turkmen-Malian dialogue. At the meeting end, the diplomat expressed confidence that relations between our countries will reach a new level, meeting the realities of modern times and mutual interests. *** During his stay in Ashgabat, the ambassador was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the opportunities for expanding partnership in various areas between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Mali were considered.
