In accordance with the Decree of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, with the aim to fundamentally modernize the sports sphere, coordinate activities in the sphere of sports and youth policy, and educate patriotic, broad-minded, hardworking, highly cultured youth, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan was established on the basis of the State Committee for Sports. The Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan is the successor of the abolished State Committee for Sports of Turkmenistan.
