President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the participants of international conference “Diplomacy of the Silk Road: Triumph of peace, friendship and cooperation” on the Day of Diplomatic Personnel of Turkmenistan and on the start of the forum. Turkmenistan committed to the principles of permanent neutrality makes big contribution to the development of political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian relations in global space. Our state pays greatest attention to use of the heritage of the Silk Road as an integral part of the world history for the interests of peace and international cooperation. Taking into consideration current condition of regional and world development, foreign policy of Turkmenistan is pursued on the base of comprehensive and targeted measures in accordance with national interests. This is indicated by the adoption of the Concept of foreign course of Turkmenistan in 2017 – 2023 adopted last year and successfully realized by the country at present time. Foreign policy of Turkmenistan together with the development of bilateral relations with the states of the world is aimed at multilateral cooperation under competent international organizations, first of all with the UN as a platform for elaboration of efficient solution of the global agenda, - the message highlights. Studying our rich history and national heritage, we may say with the pride that Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road! Using geostrategic advantages, our country makes deserving input to the development of international trade and economic relations, supports bringing peoples and cultures closer together. In this context, it is important that diplomatic personnel perform with honour the mission laid upon them on popularization of domestic and foreign policy of Turkmenistan in the world and on expansion of interstate cooperation for the interests of peace and sustainable development. It is necessary to establish and expand the relations based on peace, security, good neighbourhood and mutual cooperation for the improvement of the efficiency of international transport and logistic infrastructure that forms up new appearance of the Silk Route and development of foreign trade. Therefore, our state always joins the efforts put in this direction. Guided by the policy of positive neutrality, Turkmenistan consolidates the cooperation with different states and competent international organizations and put many efforts for support of peace on the planet and development of friendly relations proposing constructive initiatives, - the message says. I am confident that interested and fruitful exchange of the views on wide spectrum of the aspects of foreign policy would be held during current international forum with your active participation, - President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted.
