President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed the participants of the international scientific conference “The Chemical Industry of Turkmenistan on the Way of Progress” held in Ashgabat on the occasion of the Chemical Industry Workers’ Day that is celebrated in our country for the first time. Congratulating all those present on the beginning of the forum, the Turkmen leader expressed belief that the forum would be of great importance for the reciprocal exchange of experience. “At present, Turkmenistan carries out the ambitious work on the intensive development of the chemical industry, strengthening the economic power of the country. Every achievement, a labor victory in the chemical industry, which is one of the major branches of our economy, is based on the selfless and creative work of the chemical industry specialists and scientists. The workers of the industry contribute to the further increase of the economic power of the country and achieve outstanding results. “The countless reserves of natural resources in our country are an invaluable treasury, the foundation for the development of the national economy of the country. The rich reserves of the valuable raw materials on the Turkmen land determines the dynamic development of the chemical industry. “It is impossible to imagine the people’s daily life, the economic growth of the country without the chemical industry production. Therefore, given the important tasks set to the industry, the government applies significant efforts to ensure the work of the domestic chemical industry in compliance with today’s requirements, first of all, by creating large modern enterprises and modernizing the existing production facilities. “The main products manufactured by the enterprises of the industry are intended for the agro-industrial complex of the country, since the promotion of the agricultural development is the priority task of the chemical industry. We are also proud of the fact that the mineral fertilizers and chemical products manufactured in Turkmenistan fully conform to the international standards. “The state allocates large funds for the development of the chemical industry at the international level. Modern enterprises producing chemicals are being built and put into operation. Due to the introduction of the advanced world technologies, the production capacity of the industry is steadily increasing. Moreover, the planned work is carried out to establish the individual enterprises on the production of chemicals and raw materials, the development of entrepreneurship and production of import-substituting products. “I would like to especially emphasize that the production facilities of the Turkmenhimiya State Concern, equipped with modern technologies, make an invaluable contribution to increasing the national economy potential. “In any country that achieves new economic heights, the people’s life flourishes, and the state power grows. In this context, we will continue to consistently increase the number of industrial enterprises in the chemical industry. The government will continue to pay special attention to the consistent improvement of the social and living conditions of the industry workers, and opening new specialized schools. “I believe that the current scientific forum, along with the improvement of work of the national chemical industry will be of great importance for strengthening the international cooperation”, said the President of Turkmenistan in his address.
