Today, a welcoming ceremony for the participant-delegates of the Third United Nations Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries was held in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone.

The ceremony was attended by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, President of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly Philemon Yang, heads and members of the delegations of the participating countries, leaders and representatives of international organizations, and officials of our country.

In the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, Turkmenistan under the wise leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who honorably continues the noble initiatives of the Hero Arkadag, is successfully implementing foreign policy based on the legal status of permanent neutrality and the principles of peacefulness, good neighborliness, mutual trust, and equal cooperation.

On the eve of the ceremony, Hero Arkadag warmly greeted the heads of the high-level delegations of the participating countries. After the joint photo session against the backdrop of the official banner of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero Arkadag, and the distinguished guests proceeded to the venue of the event.

Addressing the participants of the ceremony, the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero Arkadag noted that today the forum’s delegates became witnesses to a historic event taking place on the magnificent coast of the Caspian Sea in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone.

Heartily greeting, in the Turkmen language, the United Nations Secretary-General, the heads of delegations, and all participants of the ceremony in the sunny and hospitable motherland, the National Leader of the Turkmen people also emphasized the special significance of holding the current forum in the International Year of Peace and Trust, declared by the United Nations on the initiative of Turkmenistan. In this regard, confidence was expressed that joint efforts within the system of international relations and large-scale measures for peace, security, and sustainable development would bear positive fruit.

Possessing a rich cultural heritage, our countries and peoples are able to further strengthen the humanitarian component of international relations, regional, and global politics. Hero Arkadag expressed confidence that there would be an effective exchange of views and positive proposals on all aspects of the agenda of this already third time held high-level international forum.

Then the National Leader of the Turkmen people continued his speech in Russian—one of the official languages of the United Nations. Once again, on behalf of the people of Turkmenistan, warmly and sincerely greeting those gathered, Hero Arkadag expressed gratitude to all for participating in the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

Such broad representation at this Forum is perceived as a sign of respect for Turkmenistan, trust, and a high assessment of the role of our country on the international stage, its efforts to establish cooperation and mutual understanding, emphasized the National Leader of the Turkmen people.

“We welcome all of you, respected participants of the Forum, on Turkmen soil as dear and desired guests, like-minded partners and friends of Turkmenistan, united by the high goals of peace, progress, and well-being on the planet.”

“Welcome to Turkmenistan!”—concluded his welcoming speech Hero Arkadag.

As noted, the holding of the current Conference is quite natural and deeply justified. It is an organic part of the large, serious work carried out by our countries for many years aimed at enhancing the role of developing states in global processes, drawing attention to their problems and legitimate interests, and ensuring a worthy place in the modern world order.
