The Mejlis hosted a meeting with head of OSCE Center in Ashgabat, Ms Natalia Drozd. Having congratulated the parliamentarians on the 26th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, the representative of international organization sent all the people of Turkmenistan the wishes for happiness, peace and prosperity. As was noted, the comprehensive expansion of fruitful cooperation with dynamically developing Turkmenistan, which neutral status is a positive factor for maintaining peace and stability in the Central Asian region, fully meets the OSCE interests. During a meeting, an interested exchange of views took place on the state and prospects of relations between Turkmenistan and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. Fuel-energy, trade-economic and transport-communications sectors, ecology and environmental protection, humanitarian fields were specified among the priority areas of partnership. The need was pointed out to carry out new projects aimed at practical implementation of universally recognized international laws and standards in the national legislation and law enforcement practice. The meeting participants also spoke for strengthening effective cooperation in development of parliamentary institutions.
