Official visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Tajikistan taken by the invitation of President Emomali Rahmon is starting on November 2. Another Turkmen – Tajik high-level meeting is to consolidated interstate agreements achieved earlier and to outline new priority directions of beneficial cooperation. Undoubtedly, it will be important stage in the development of friendly relations of neighbouring countries, which people are united by unbreakable fraternal and good neighbourliness relations as well as by historically formed spiritual and cultural ties. Trustful attitude of constructive interstate dialog built on long-term basis is stipulated by huge attention of the leaders of the countries whose mutual visits are of regular and productive character. Today, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan demonstrate the intent to steadily enrich positive practice of fruitful cooperation supporting it by large-scale projects implemented for the interests of entire region. They includes the project of construction of Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Tajikistan railway, which completion is to give new stimulus to the development of transnational transport network and support the activation of trade and economic relations in all Eurasian continent. In this regard, it is necessary to state that proximity of the positions of our countries in regional and international policy issues stipulated their productive cooperation under large international organizations including the United Nations Organizations. More than 70 signed bilateral documents covering different spheres of cooperation are the reliable base for further consolidation of interstate relations in political and diplomatic, trade and economic, social and humanitarian spheres. Considerable role in the development and diversification of business contacts is given to Joint Turkmen – Tajik Interstate Commission for trade and economic, scientific and technical cooperation, which seventh session took place in Ashgabat in January of the last year. Joint business forums are good ground for presentation of export potential of national economies, demonstration of capabilities of leading Turkmen and Tajik manufacturers for establishment of partnership relations between the ministries, departments and government and private enterprises and definition of perspective directions of their cooperation. Cooperation in humanitarian sphere that have special importance for both sides is undoubtedly one of the most important component of Turkmen – Tajik relations. Recently, two state have activated cultural and scientific exchanges and held the Days of Cultures, systematically organize the tours of famous art bands and international conferences with participation of Turkmen and Tajik scientists. It is expected that the talks between Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Emomali Rahmon will result in signing of important bilateral documents, which are to support further intensification of versatile interstate partnership with new horizons.
