As was noted during the talks in Dushanbe, the cultural and humanitarian sphere is one of the priority areas of the interstate relations. The representatives of science, culture and arts of the both countries regularly take part in the international events, organized in Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. The cooperation in the educational sphere successively develops. Today, students from Turkmenistan get education in the higher educational institutions in Tajikistan. In this regard, it was noted that young citizens of Tajikistan study in Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov suggested enhancing direct relations between the leading universities and scientific centres of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan and considering the possibility to develop joint programmes of cooperation in the spheres of archeology, ethnography and popularization of historical monuments on the territory of the two countries. The Turkmen leader also proposed to hold a bilateral scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of establishing the diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tajikistan in January, 2018. Turkmenistan expressed the willingness for cooperation and exchange of experience with Tajikistan on the preparation for and organization of large international sports events.
