The country’s Skyrunning Cup Tournament finished in Ashgabat. The final round of the tournament, which determined the winners of 2017, was a race on the Health Path in the discipline Sky Race, organized by the Mountaineering Club “Agama” under the auspices of the State Sports Committee, and held on the occasion of the International Day of Neutrality and the International Day of Mountains. Yazgeldy Odeniyazov in the men’s group and Nadziya Kostova in the women’s group became the Cup winners.

The last day of the World Kurash Championship in Istanbul (Turkey) brought another two medals to Turkmenistan National team.

Turkmenistan National team continue successful performance at the World Powerlifting Championship in Anaheim. Our sportsmen won another three silver medals.

Turkmenistan wrestlers won seven medals at the World Kurash Championship in Istanbul. Our team has brought the strongest wrestlers who are the prize-winners of the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games that were held in Ashgabat in September.

VII International Martial Arts Games, where Turkmen National taekwondo team won two bronze medals in team competition and one bronze medal in personal offset, have finished in Minsk.

Turkmenistan National team put first medals on its account at the World Powerlifting Championship in Anaheim, USA. Our compatriot, student of National Institute of Sports and Tourism Kristina Shermetova won three medals in women weight category until 53 kilogramme – two bronze medals in clean-and-jerk and snatch and one silver medal in total count.

VII International Martial Arts Games including competitions in 15 martial arts have started in Minsk.

Our young athletes showed excellent results at the international competitions that take place in Antalya, Turkey as part of the archery training session. In particular, in 18 meter-distance archery competitions the gold medal was awarded to Ezizmuhammet Sahedov, a 4th year pupil of general school No. 27 of Ashgabat city. Mekanhan Yazberdiyev, a 10th year pupil of genera school No. 12 of Ashgabat city won the silver medal.

The National Institute of Sports and Tourism of Turkmenistan hosted the opening ceremony of the 9th Student Games held among students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan under the motto “Turkmenistan is the country of health and inspiration!”, and the 9th National Sports Contest between students of general and vocational schools, employees of ministries and sectoral agencies, the teams of velayats and the city of Ashgabat.

Conference hall of the Sport Hotel in the Olympic village of the capital hosted honouring ceremony of Turkmen sambo wrestler Gulbadam Babamuratova who won the gold at the 41st World Sambo Championship in Sochi (Russian Federation). 26 year old Honoured Master of Sports achieved impressive victories in the weight category up to 52 kg.
