In the capital’s Olympic village, it was started the Asian Kickboxing Championship, attended by nearly 300 sportsmen from 17 countries – the Republic of Korea, India, Malaysia, Jordan, Syria, Nepal, Iraq etc. Program includes six medal events – point-fighting, semi-contact, kick-light, low-kick, full-contact and solo exercises.

The Asian Swimming Championship started in the capital’s Olympic Village, which brought together about 100 participants from Iran, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and other countries. The program of the tournament includes only sprint distances (50 and 100 meters). The four medal events will be held such as backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly and complex relay.

The winner of prizes was International Master of Sports Rejepbai Rejepov, who performed in the weight category up to 77 kilograms. He won second place in the snatch, where the trainee of Agamyrat Janmyratov lifted the weight of 158 kg (a total of 343 kg in clean and jerk combination). R.Rejepov was awarded the bronze medal in the jerk (185 kg).

The tournament was organized by the State Association “Turkmen Atlary”, the State Sports Committee and the National Equestrian Center.

On the third day of the Asian Weightlifting Championship in progress within the Olympic Village, two medal events were held in the weight category up to 63 kilograms among women and up to 69 kg among men.

The second day program of the Asian Weightlifting Championship, held in Ashgabat in the Olympic Village, included the medal events in two weight categories among women, where the team of Turkmenistan won two bronze medals. Christina Shermetova won both awards (weight category under 53 kilograms).

Around 300 sportsmen from more than 30 countries like Japan, China, the Republic of Korea, People’s Democratic Republic of Korea, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Syria, Iraq and other participate in the tournament. The first day of the competitions brought two medals to the collection of Turkmenistan national team – Yulduz Jumabayeva won two bronze medals.

Leaders of national and international sport organizations, who arrived in Turkmenistan to the Asian Weightlifting Federation Congress, had an opportunity to see the level of equipment and facilities base of sport sphere of our country on example of the capital Olympic village as well as to familiarize with large-scale activity undertaken in Turkmenistan for the development of public physical training movement and sports of high achievements.

Today at the conference hall of the hotel ""Ashgabat"" the congress of the Asian Weightlifting Federation where issues of organisation of the championship of Asia in this sport to be held at the Olympic village of the capital from April 23 to April, 29, were discussed, took place. In competitions about 200 weight-lifters from more than 30 countries - Japan, China, the Republic of Korea, People's Democratic Republic of Korea, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Syria, Iraq and others will take part.
