Turkmenistan is preparing to celebrate the Day of the Melon. A sweet and fragrant holiday in honor of the ""queen"" of melon plantation will be celebrated this year on August 17.

160 pilgrims from Turkmenistan are to go on a pilgrimage from August 17 to September 7. The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has signed the relevant Decree.

Today, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has made a working tour of the capital to check on the city’s infrastructure development, the ongoing improvement efforts and preparations in Ashgabat for the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.

In the course of a working tour through Ashgabat, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov inspected the reconstructed administrative building of public organizations of Turkmenistan, which is situated on the Garashsyzlyk Avenue.

Today, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov was acquainted with the progress of the implementation of the Ashgabat Redevelopment Program’s 15th phase. In general, there will be constructed 208 two-storied one-family cottages, eighteen 12-storied and sixteen 3- and 4-storied buildings and the corresponding social infrastructure objects, including shopping centers, kindergarten, school, etc. The large area is rendered suitable for new buildings in the capital’s southwestern part, which currently creates a qualitatively new urban environment.
